How Will The PCB Industry Change In Industry 4.0 ?

industrial 4.0 project is divided into two themes, one is "smart factory", focuses on the research of intelligent production system and process, and the realization of a distributed network of production facilities; two is "intelligent manufacturing", as long as relates to the whole enterprise production logistics management, human-computer interaction and 3D technology application in the industrial production process etc.. The PCB industry, of course, belongs to an intelligent factory.

So what is industrial 4.0 like? Let's first comb it: industry 1 is the era of machine building, industry 2 is the era of electrification and automation, and industry 3.0 is the era of electronic information. "Industry 4.0" describes a highly flexible, personalized and digitalized intelligent manufacturing mode through real-time communication and effective communication between people, equipment and products.

Industry 4.0 is put forward under the background of Internet of things, cloud services and big data. Professor Ma Jianguo of Tianjin University defines it as: Internet of things = embedded intelligent system + network, industrial 4.0= Internet of things + manufacturing.

What is embedded intelligent system? For the PCB industry, it will add some automatic induction, automatic identification and judgement to PCB production equipment, and the intelligent function of automatic adjustment is embedded intelligent system. With intelligent PCB production equipment (i.e., embedded intelligent system), and connecting each PCB device with network and communicating with each other through ERP system, Internet of things in PCB industry is formed. With the Internet of things and PCB manufacturing, it became the Industry 4.0 of the PCB industry.

Further extension analysis, we can speculate that the PCB industry will change in the following aspects:

1. mass production patterns will gradually disappear, instead of small batch allegro.

2. the traditional PCB equipment will be phased out, instead of intelligent automatic production equipment, for example, equipment can automatically adjust production parameters according to production information. It can also automatically scan the PCB bar code to identify the production and quality characteristics of each PCB.

3. the layout of the workshop will be gradually improved from the traditional dispersion to the centralized assembly line. The traditional workshops are made up of manual or semi-automatic equipment, and the transportation of the products is completed manually, so the distribution of each equipment is more diffuse. In the era of Industry 4.0, all the devices are intelligent automation, and the upper and lower process equipment can be connected. PCB can automatically transition from the upper process to the next process without manual transportation. This requires the layout of each equipment into a streamline form to facilitate logistics transportation.

4. the workshop has almost no production personnel and data input personnel.  When all production equipment for intelligent automation, only in order to one-time order information and production information into the ERP system, ERP system according to the characteristics of the order to generate a unique bar code, the device will automatically adjust the production parameters according to the barcode information ERP to survive, and each machine equipment in the process through the ERP system can talk to each other, such as plate production process at the end of may convey to the next process through the ERP system, the next step will be adjusted well in advance of the production equipment parameters to save production time. In addition, the production time and production results of each equipment will be automatically introduced into the ERP system, and the data are summarized and analyzed by the ERP system.

5. information management, as the key part of realizing Industry 4.0, will be more and more perfect.

In the era of Industry 4.0, personalized demand will prompt the production cycle of PCB to be shorter and shorter. Therefore, the most important task of information management is to help factories reduce turnover time and speed up production cycle.
